“If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse” -Jen Sincero author “You are a BadAss”
So, yeah, it’s been awhile since I blogged anything news worthy. More like, since I set aside time to actually do so. Summer has had its shot and we can soon welcome fall. Cooler weather, sweatshirts, and most everyone’s favorite….everything flavored pumpkin!
With the change of season, wouldn’t it be a great time to change your mind set. What does that mean exactly? Well, basically it is changing your attitude that you established, whether you knew you did or not, you did.
The past few months have been a whirl wind of everything for me personally. I’ve decided to hop off the whirl and just go with the wind by finally having a light bulb go off in my beautiful brain, and that being my mind set. With the help of some guided meditation, motivational/inspiring/ get up and do something reading material, and an encouraging husband; I’ve woken up to “whoa, what the F was I thinking.”
In my profession, I, much like a hair dresser, hear the ups and downs of every client I train. While this is all well and has purpose for the client; it in turn can start to affect my well being…(mind set) To get out of a negative mind set I started stating (to myself) at night before bed, what I was thankful for each day. I started writing in a journal throughout the week as well as meditating 10 minutes on a regular basis. It’s the little positive things such as these that can really make a difference in one’s mind set. At the end of the day, we all have our “stuff.” That bag of crap we would just like to unload and get rid of. Ultimately, the only way to get rid of it is to deal with it, sort through it and decide what it is that will enable you to grow in a positive way and the stuff that doesn’t…..gets tossed.
I’m not saying that any of these things will work for you, but just sharing that they do for me. We are all very different. What we do have in common is the ability to change our current mind set for the better.
So if you are feeling similar, or in a “funk”, I’d suggest to take a step out of your comfy little zone, look at yourself from the outside in, and start making some small but substantial mind set changes. Nothing really to lose in doing so. In fact, you’re more likely to gain more self fulfillment by doing so.
As always…DO THE WORK! in all areas of your life.
MABFIT!
