Giving Thanks
Welcome to November, the month many of us announce our “thanks” each day. But shouldn’t this be done every day? Just like expressing your love everyday not just on the 14th of February. We each have our own perspective on this, but the underlying question to ask your self is “do I really do these things daily”. Probably not. I’m not saying you need to be a waterfall gushing with love and thankfulness to everyone you interact with each day, BUT how would your life be different if you stretched your ability to extend a little more love, a little more thankfulness each day.
How would your life be different if you added a little more water, a few more vegetables/fruits, throw in some weight bearing movements, each day. Each day adding just a little more of everything listed. Would your life seem better? More satisfying? More positive?
Highly likely.
So why aren’t you doing it?
Making positive changes to our lives do not need to be big, immense, or scary. Some of the best changes start out small, consistent, and turn into some of the best parts of our lives. But yet, most of us don’t do anything at all, and end up wishing, dreaming, and sometimes complaining for things to be different, better, smaller, bigger, richer, lighter.
November, thankful, grateful, blessed. Let’s change that to…
EVERYDAY – THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, BLESSED, LOVED, DISCIPLINED, POSITIVE.
Remember, we all have our own journeys and paths of life that we choose to follow. Along the way the scenery you pass will offer many opportunities that can positively change your life, do not miss those opportunities because you were too busy comparing your path to someone else’s.
Here’s one opportunity to make a difference, to have a positive impact.
I need help filling 100 shoeboxes that will be sent to children in third world countries just in time for Christmas. Their ages range 2 years old to 14 years old. This may be the only Christmas gift the receive. You are filling these boxes with simple ever day items that we take for granted. (tooth brushes, combs, flip flops, yoyo, jump rope, pens, pencils, tape, socks, hair bows, etc) If you could make a child smile this Christmas with shoebox that you filled, wouldn’t that make you smile knowing you made a difference in someone’s life just by doing a little extra, giving a little more. You impacting another person’s life will have direct positive impact on yours.
If you would like to help me fill 100 boxes here’s what you can do:
- Get a shoe box from myself, MABFIT LLC. or Amy Eppinette at Rooted. Salon, fill it, and return it by November 22nd.
- Donate any items needed to fill boxes. Both, Amy and I have totes available to drop off any donated items. Donation’s need to be dropped off by November 22nd.
- If you would like to purchase items online and ship them to me then I will fill a box for you. I must have donations by November 22nd.
- Venmo- if you rather give a monetary donation for items, please include in the comments OCC (operation Christmas child) and I will purchase items and then fill a box. *Should you choose to venmo please contact me first, so I can make sure you are sending it to the correct person.
- Click on this link Item List to see a detailed list of age/gender specific donation items
To those of you who have donated already and those who are filling boxes, THANK YOU!
Make a difference, make a positive change to your life, see the opportunities along your path (they may not always be clear, but they are there), and make a Thankful November part of your everyday throughout the year.
DO THE WORK!
