Does This Sound Like You?


 

Are you finding yourself “frazzled”, short fused, lacking energy?  Do you find that you are always doing for everyone else, letting little to no time for yourself?  If you agreed to any of the mentioned, then read on.  If you were like, “No way man!  I am at peace with everything in my life, the people, the kids, the work, the personal growth” Then I am standing up and applauding you and would like to hire you as my life coach.

 

As I write this blog, I am currently sitting in the orthodontist office as my oldest gets his expander on and lower braces.  Afterwards begins the race course of the day.  As with any parent, our once nice clean (maybe even luxury) vehicle is now an Uber, except, no one pays us to drive them to their destination.

Throughout the day our focus gets lost at the task at hand, we wring our hands, maybe even slam a few things, our escape is the bathroom for just a little time alone to collect our thoughts and hopefully regroup.

 

When we do have a moment, our thoughts shift to all the things we “should” or “could” be doing to better our health, our mindset, or overall wellbeing.  The “I really should” go to the gym and workout, “I really should” learn to meditate, “I really should” check out new recipes and start eating better.  Along with “I really don’t” want to do any of those things because truthfully, I am unmotivated and lack self-discipline to carry out my goals. OR my favorite “I really don’t” have time to take for myself, which really truthfully means, “I don’t value myself enough” to take care of myself in order to take of the those I love.

Harsh?  No, TRUTH.

Trust me, I am not above not saying any of these things.  I’ve said them before too, and some of them I still do.  I am a work in progress, SO ARE YOU!  And each day you and I have this fabulous thing called “CHOICE”. I can choose to better myself, to take action to grow myself physically and mentally stronger, to make an impact on those around me and those I have yet to meet.  I choose to DO THE WORK on myself, because at the end of the day there is only one me, one YOU, ONE LIFE.  Why wouldn’t you want to make the best of this life?

Our journey is just that, ours.  To live, to love, to learn, to grow.  And let’s not forget to SHARE it, to GIVE it, to PAY IT FORWARD.  The beauty is that it doesn’t have to cost you anything but your time.  86,400 seconds in day, we all have time to make improvements on ourselves.
