HAPPY 4th of July!

SUMMER is fully here! It’s sunny, it’s glorious HOT! Time to be PRESENT and soak it all up! (as we should be every day!) With the 4th of July comes fireworks, family, picnics, bbq, drinking, relaxing, laughing. In this blog I will be giving you a few links to click on to help guide you through your holiday festivities!
As we all know, BBQs, picnics, family gatherings offer up much too much temptation while we are on our healthy/wellness journey. BUT it is never impossible to stick to your goals! If you are truly committed to yourself, to your journey, to your health, it should be easy peasy. However, many of us are not. We cave at the sight or the smell of sweet, salty, boozy. Why? Because it is always easier to give in, to make an excuse, to say “just one”, to, say “I’ll workout extra tomorrow”. Do you feel me? Does this sound like you? Do you feel like everyone is staring at you as you sift through the table of food choices, when you don’t take the bun to the burger, when you load up on the raw veggies rather than the potato salad. When you skip the desserts, when you grab another water instead of a beer/wine/etc.?
If you answered “yes, OMG she’s speaking to me!” Then I would like you to step back. Re-evaluate your situation at the current moment. BE PRESENT! Know your worth! For 90 seconds, tell your head to shut up and listen as you remind yourself of all your whys, why you started taking better care of yourself, why your goals are important to you, why are you here today, why this is YOUR journey and no one else’s.
After the 90seconds, deep breathe, and move on. This is your moment in life, these are your goals, this is your journey, your path. No one can change that unless you allow them too.
For once in your life, stick to your goals. Don’t give up. Are you missing out, absolutely not! If you feel like you are, then again, you need to revisit your goals and re define them.
