We all have it, we all deal with it differently. So what do you do when you feel stressed, overwhelmed, angry, dis connected, depressed…
Personally all of these affect me too, currently as I type I’d say three out of the five are how I feel at this moment; could be why I was prompted to blog about it. So, yes, I feel all of these things and more throughout my life, I have experienced all more closely than I would have liked too. But what did I do, what do I do about it? As much as I would like to ball up in a corner, or put the covers over my head and forget the world, I don’t. I don’t because part of me says “NO”, “no Mary that won’t get you anywhere, you won’t feel any better. Focus, deep breath and face it.”
As you may have guessed exercise is a big part of my relief. It is also a stress as when I find myself re prioritizing my day(s) and exercise gets continually pushed back, I feel even more stress! My other go too’s….listening to soothing uplifting music, (not my lifting music), something that calms me. Reading! I love to read, and yet I find that I wish I could do more of it. Recently I’ve kept a book in my purse so it is with me at all times. Church, now many of you know I in the past have not been a big church goer. This past year a good friend invited me to a bible study, I went, I listened, and at the end I felt amazing. My soul needed something, and I found it. These are things that work for me, they may not work for you. My point is, don’t give up on yourself, don’t give in because your having a bad mental health day. Face it, confront it personally. Find that one thing that makes you feel calm, that eases your self so that you can breathe; and then do it…BREATHE!
It is ok to feel….you were born to FEEL! But doesn’t feeling GREAT feel better than not?
